Care and maintenance

We use our own unique recipe of recycled sands and aggregates, cement, admixtures and pigments along with our own bespoke sealing process to produce our basins.

All of our products are delivered from our factory with a pre-applied seal. Our environmentally friendly sealant is applied four times to create an durable shield against staining, all while preserving the natural feel of the stone with a subtle satin sheen. It's important to note that no sealant on the market is 100% resistant to staining, especially if the staining substance is left on the surface for an extended period. The sealant serves as a temporary barrier (of a few hours) when the staining agent comes into contact with the stone and when it is wiped away.

We finish our basins with a cream polish, which further protects the surface and gives an attractive sheen to the surface.

To help maintain your concrete basin, we provide the following guidelines:

When cleaning your basin:

- Clean with warm soapy water followed by rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cloth.

- Additional applications of stone cream polish or solid wax can be reapplied periodically to maintain the attractive finish of your basin.

- If you find you have a difficult mark to remove, you can use specialist stone cleaners and periodically apply a coat of sealer to maintain maximum protection.

Notes:

Surfaces are vulnerable to acid attack and some strong substances such as household cleaners or disinfectants can cause etching or discolouration. Such liquids are best wiped away as soon as possible.

Do NOT use products containing solvents. Doing so will remove the sealant and leave the concrete more susceptible to staining. If this should happen, your surface should be resealed as soon as possible. There are many products on the market that contain solvents, such as brush cleaners and even sealer. It is important that you check the ingredients label before using the product on the surface. We recommend that you a suitable container instead.

Do NOT use products containing Bleach to clean your basin. Take care when using such products in other areas of the bathroom, to avoid the basin. Permanent discolouration may occur.

Do NOT rub the concrete with an abrasive material such as scouring or metal pads as this will result in scratching and permanent damage to the concrete. Cream cleaners should also be avoided as long term use will scratch the surface.

AVOID impacts from heavy objects onto the concrete as the edges are vulnerable to chipping and cracking.

When using cleaning or polish products always follow the manufacturers guidelines and test in a small inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.

Following these guidelines keep your basin in the best condition and limit the effects of everyday use.
